Roll vs. Hořava: decent glory, praise and prodding. And the red cylinder
The clash of giants turned out clearly for Sparta. She won 3:0 in Pardubice, dominating the game. Before the match, a clip from the Under-20 World Cup was played. The moderator announced that coach Radim Rulík, who won silver with the team, had returned home after seven matches. He was also applauded by the fighters from the red camp, respect his friend Miloslav Hořava. Then the bows ended and Sparta showed how good it can be. Minus the big battle? The decisive goal was probably scored after offside.
Looking at hockey, Radim Rulík and Miloslav Hořava are very close to each other. They like to work together, they met at the national team, in Sparta, in Mladá Boleslav. The most famous is their Lithuanian era where they won the title. Both are among the most highly valued coaching personalities in the Czech Republic, now they are facing each other. The giants lead.
The result of their battle? Clear, Hořava’s Sparta overcame Rulíkov’s Pardubice. From the second period onward, it was a clear affair. Sparta was tougher, faster, fiercer. Maybe not so beautiful, but damn dangerous. And Jakub Kovář made a great catch.
“I watched them on Spengler, the tournament helped Sparta. I knew the match would be very difficult. They have a good squad, moreover, they show a desire to work, you can also see excellent movement,” calculated Rulík after the 0:3 defeat. “I can’t blame my players too much, they wanted to. When there is a situation where the opponent is two steps faster? You can tell,” he added.
“Excellent match, I really liked it. And when he still had such an ending for us, I liked him all the more, Hořava first announced briefly. Later, the honest coach talked more and it was worth it.
Rulik didn’t want carpets
You couldn’t miss how Pardubice is looking forward to the big show. After seven matches, Rulík returned, and since mid-December he has been working with the national team in Canada. When the announcer announced that the coach was back, did he mention the silverware and footage of the tournament ran on the dice? Applause erupted. The Pardubice players were being walked around by a masseur with a bottle of ammonia to get them ready for the start. They stood up anyway, pounding their hockey sticks.
Sparta also paid tribute to Rulík in the same way. “I have worked with Radim for years, I know him very well. In my opinion, he is the best coach here. It doesn’t surprise me at all that he led a 20-year-old to a medal, that he is so successful. I wish him that,” acknowledged Hořava.
Rulík then timidly waved at the camera. As soon as he saw himself on the dice, you saw an expression that said: Thanks, but that’s enough, we’re playing! The club planned a bigger show for him before the game, but the coach canceled it. “I didn’t want carpets on the ice, we agreed. It was decent and cultured,” added Rulík.
After the match, she and Hořava shook hands briefly. After all, after the press conference, Rulík poked his colleague a little. “Congratulations and don’t take all my picks,” he pointed Pavel Kousal, whom they led together in Boleslav, and he now ended up in Sparta. “I promise,” Hořava laughed. “We advise, bye.
When both were then asked if a mutual battle is very prestigious when they know each other so well? Without each other hearing, they spoke the same way.
“I guess the match isn’t special,” Rulík shook his head. “I wouldn’t really say that,” countered Hořava. And he continued: “I really wished him well with the twenty. I wish Radim anyway. It’s a sport. I just don’t want to say that I’m keeping my fingers crossed for him when we play against each other, mind you! Certainly not.” But otherwise she wishes Rulík well: “Because he’s good.”
Horava received a similar compliment from the Pardubice coach: “I know his coaching mindset, I know what awaits us in such matches. It was only confirmed now because Sparta played great. I’m happy for such matches, they were really of high quality, we faced an excellent opponent.”
In the end, no wild emotions were aroused even by the fact that Sparta’s winning goal was scored apparently after offside. “I didn’t even register to confess. But you can’t use it, we wouldn’t do anything with it anyway,” only Rulík replied.
And if you try a joint note one more time, what if they cut an engagement together again in time? The president of the association, Alois Hadamczik, mentioned that he would eventually see Rulík as Kari Jalonen’s successor at the national team.
And Horava to him? “Jesus Christ, just not that,” snapped the Sparta coach. “I’ve already been through this once when I was one of the candidates. I don’t want to go through that again. I don’t think I’ll ever be among the adepts of the nativity scene. I already had a chance and I turned it down. I don’t think it will ever come again.’
So you can look forward to his fights with Rulík. With the end of the season approaching, the rivalry between Pardubice and Sparta will gather steam. Now Dynamo has received training.
