A prefect leaves, another arrives. This Wednesday, January 11, 2023, we learn that Pierre-André Durand leaves his post at the prefecture of Seine-Maritime. He joins Occitania. This departure must be formalized in the Council of Ministers today.
Yellow vests, Lubrizol, Covid…
Arrived in April 2019 from Seine-Saint-Denis, the new prefect of Normandy very quickly had a lot to do. Firstly because the movement of yellow vests was still alive. But above all because, a few months after taking office, he was confronted with the Lubrizol disaster.
Heavily criticized at the time for his management of the crisis, he also had to come to terms with the implementation of measures to deal with the Covid pandemic.
Added to this the questions of public safety and immigration, it is an understatement to say that the enarque had his work cut out for him.
After three years (average duration of a prefect in his functions), he therefore left Rouen to join Occitania.
He will be replaced here by Jean-Benoît Albertini, current Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior, former Prefect of Essonne. He also officiated in Vendée and Territoire-de-Belfort.
