Five unique places in Bilbao that you probably don’t know (and can visit)
There are many places that amaze tourists in Bilbao. The Guggenheim Museum, the Mercado de la Ribera or its old town in general attract a huge number of travelers every day. However, beyond these popular points, there are some other most unknown corner waiting to be explored.
Irala neighborhood
The Iralabarri neighborhood was built at the beginning of the twentieth century to welcome the workers of the nearby industrial flour mill, Harino Panadera. The result was this quaint neighborhood inaugurated in 1916 and made up of a group of semi-detached houses and chalets, with their gardens and patios. architecture had a strong english inspirationbut with certain Basque touches, and that is why it is known as the notting hill from Bilbao.

Azkuna Zentroa pool
The Azkuna Zentroa Alhóndiga is an old wine warehouse converted into a leisure and cultural center. The most curious thing is that on its terrace there is a glass bottom poolso anyone walking below can see the swimmers on the roof.
zollo alley
One of the most unknown corners of the center of Bilbao is the Zolo alley. It is a narrow passage located at the height of number 11 of the San Mames Street. Its white walls with blue details and flower pots will not feel many kilometers away from the Basque city.
The oldest house in Bilbao
Bilbao was founded in the 13th century and drags years of history behind it. In its urban framework, the oldest house still standing (even inhabited) is located on the Gardens Street and it is easily recognizable by its pink color of its facade. This was built nothing more and is less than in the year 1300.
