The biker community pays tribute to “Riri”, a member of the Rebel Rider Monaco who died this weekend in an accident in Nice
The biker community is in mourning. During the night from Saturday to Sunday, while he was going up the A8 on his Harley-Davidson Electra Glide towards Aix-en-Provence, Eric Michailoff, 59, lost his life in a road accident at the level of the CADAM bend in Nice.
Since then, messages on social networks have been pouring in from all walks of life – Monaco, France, Italy, Portugal and elsewhere – to pay tribute to “Riri”, his nickname in the community, a member of Rebel Rider Monaco, a club of 25 Harley Davidson enthusiasts.
A man with a big heart
A solar man, unanimously appreciated by his peers for his good nature and his traits of humor. “He has traveled thousands of kilometers on his various mounts. He was an ambassador of joie de vivre and the pleasure of meeting peopledescribes Jean-Claude Perillo, president of Rebel Rider Monaco and friend of the deceased. When we arrived at a biker event and he was not present among us, there was always someone to ask about him.
Cornerstone of this Monegasque biker club, of which he was the first affiliated member after the founders, Eric Michailoff planned all the trips.
“He was our road captain, the one who drew the route on the road map, found out where to go to eat, sleep and refuel. He was very involved in the life of the club”, continues the president.
A man with a heart on his sleeve, this enthusiast and close to retirement was also involved in all the charity events: the Trott’n’Roll of the Flavien Foundation, the Sapaudia, the Telethon, the baptisms of Harley Davidson for the Amapei …”He wasn’t just there to enjoy. He was driving the club forward.”
Even recently, he participated in the organization of a concert in La Turbie to buy toys for the evening nursery at the village school.
On January 14 around 11 a.m., if the date is confirmed, a funeral procession made up of hundreds of bikers should leave the Nikaïa car park to go up the Boulevard du Mercantour to the Nice crematorium.
To his daughter, Jennifer, to his partner, Joëlle, to his family and loved ones, to his biker brothers, the writing of Monaco-Morning sends its most sincere condolences.
