Pope praises Turkey’s mediation efforts
“President Erdogan should continue efforts to achieve peace,” he said. He praised Turkey’s mediation work in the Russia-Ukraine war. Turkey’s Vatican Ambassador Lütfullah Göktaş conveyed that distribution of Pope Francis.
Göktaş made the statement on Twitter. He said that the Pope received ambassadors in the Vatican with the creation of the new year. As Göktaş shook hands with the Pope, “Turkey’s mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine are also appreciated by the Vatican.” said.
Pope Francis continued his messages on the Ukrainian war at his annual traditional meeting with ambassadors. He wished for peace. He said that his diploma is important for solving problems and instilling common needs.
He reminded that the war and cold in Ukraine resulted in death. He was on the air to end the meaningless conflict. The spiritual leader of the Catholics also addressed the Israeli and Palestinian authorities. He stated that he believed that Jerusalem could become a symbol of peaceful coexistence again.
“It may suggest that the officials of the State of Israel and the State of Palestine can once again muster the courage and determination to engage in direct dialogue with the aim of fully implementing the two-state solution in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.” said.
