Christelle MorancaisPresident LR of the Regional Council of Pays de la Loiredemanded from the boss of the SNCF, Jean-Pierre Farandou, the creation of a high-speed line (LGV) on the entire Nantes-Paris link, i.e. between Nantes and Sablé-sur-Sarthe.
“We must put Paris at least two hours from Nantes, whatever the technical solution chosen”, she claimed in a press release while the duration of the shortest journey is already 2h01 according to the railway company.
Almost five years after the abandonment of Notre-Dame des Landes, we cannot expect less from the government. This is essential for the attractiveness of our region.

By signing a future contract with the Region in early 2019the government had in particular undertaken to develop the Nantes Atlantique airport platform, to modernize the Nantes-Paris link, to improve the bypass of the capital, via Massy-Valenton, in order to better serve the Parisian airports.
Modernization project
SNCF Network launched a vast modernization project railway lines, in particular on the “masterly” Nantes-Angers-Sablé-sur-Sarthe axis, one of the busiest, today close to saturation.
Currently under study, the deployment of a European system of rail traffic management more efficient should allow freight trains to cohabit with TER and TGV. The site, revealing to 700 million eurosplan to be completed between 2030 and 2040.
