Investigation opened for a photo of a flocked jersey named Mohammed Merah
The investigation was opened for “apology for terrorism” this Sunday. The club concerned, Toulouse, denounced a “despicable and shameful” flocking.
The floor of Toulouse opens an investigation for “apology for terrorism” after the publication on social networks of a photo of a Toulouse football club jersey bearing the name of Mohammed Merah. The “apology of terrorism by means of communication to the public online is an offense punishable by seven years of imprisonment”, specified the prosecution to Agence France-Presse, without providing more details on this investigation “which begins” .
Before the announcement of the opening of this investigation, the Toulouse Football Club (TFC) had qualified on Twitter this flocking of “abject and shameful”, specifying that he “revolted by this content, reported it as soon as he became aware of it, and affirms that the said jersey was not treated by the teams of the official shops of the Club”.
On March 19, 2012, Mohammed Merah shot and killed three Jewish children and a teacher in the Ozar Hatorah secondary school in Toulouse, after shooting down three North African paratroopers in Toulouse and Montauban the previous days. He was killed on March 22, 2012, after a thirty-two hour siege of his apartment by the Raid.
