TRADE ANALYSIS: Sparta acquired an elite forward. Boleslav weakened
Even though all eyes were on the national team, extra-league clubs also managed to create a stir on Thursday. Mladá Boleslav changed twice. First, it sent Pavel Kousal to Sparta prematurely, then loaned Jakub Kotala to Vítkovice. In return, the skaters acquired Daniel Přibyl and David Dvořáček. But only for a few months.
Kotala: great potential
Five points in twenty one games. At first glance, it may seem like a below-average player. But the fact is that Kotala is one of the most reliable forwards in defense. Moreover, he did not have an easy task in Mladá Boleslav. He regularly started against excellent players, and according to our model, no other striker in the entire extra league had a bigger role than Kotala. If he gets at least a little relief in Vítkovice, he can expect a return from him. The 26-year-old forward has converted only 2.7% of his shots so far. An anomaly that should turn around soon. It won’t be a surprise if Kotala manages to add five or more goals with solid space on the ice. Free can be a solid reinforcement for Vítkovice.
Advantages:
+ defense
+ assault
+ entrances to the offensive zone
+ positive influence on these
Weaknesses:
– productivity
Dvoráček: a chance to prove himself
The 30-year-old striker has not played much in the last two seasons for Sparta. He simply did not perform well. On the other hand, in Mladá Boleslav he can get more space on the ice and show what he can do. Dvořák’s strength is shooting. He can also get to shots from the slot, which is always a plus from a forward. Unfortunately, it lags behind in all other attributes. Due to the lack of games played, you will not find her in the iSport Score rankings, but the value of 5.30 would correspond to approximately 130th place out of 170. One of the confirmations that Dvořáček is the weakest hockey player in both exchanges.
Advantages:
+ ending
+ entrances to the offensive zone
Weaknesses:
– negative influence on us
– passes
– assault
– defense
– exits from the defensive zone
Added: hope
If it weren’t for health problems, the 30-year-old attacker would have had a better life behind him. Daniel Přibyl can. And in Mladá Boleslav they can only hope that he will do well after the change of engagement. Skaters will need this if they want to avoid rescue fights. It can be predicted that Přibyl will get a lot of space, even on the power play. By the end of the season, he could collect around fifteen points. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see how Přbyl’s lack of game experience will affect him. In the current case, only 12 games for Sparta. But it would be wrong to expect Přibyl to replace Pavel Kousal. It will not replace.
Advantages:
+ puck management
+ attack
+ creativity
+ transition
Weaknesses:
– defense
– inconsistency
– health problems
Kousal: an elite player
Sparta won these exchanges. In Pavlo Kousal, he acquired one of the best strikers in the extra league. Not to mention his best years are still ahead of him. The value of 6.04 in iSport Score speaks for itself – 25th place among forwards. Towards the offensive, you would find only a minimum of more dominant players. But Kousal is not lagging behind in the defensive end either. He grew into a complex player. He is among the elite in entering offensive zones, exiting defensive zones, so-called ‘contributions to shots’ (all individual shots and passes flexible to the shot) and creativity. If he gets space in Sparta, he has the potential to be a key player in the team.
Advantages:
+ positive influence on these
+ offensive
+ productivity
+ creativity
+ entrances to the offensive zone
+ exits from the defensive zone
+ stopping the opponent’s attacks before the blue line
Weaknesses:
– assault
Summary of exchanges
The Prague team is the clear winner. He got an elite extraliga player in his ranks and basically he didn’t sacrifice anything for it. Both Dvořáček and Přibyl will return to Sparta. Vítkovice also deserves praise. Jakub Kotala hides a certain potential in himself. Given his defensive game, it is already clear that he should fit into Vítkovic’s system. Mlada Boleslav? Thumb down. A bottom-of-the-table team simply has to shell out more for their best player. And that despite the fact that Kousal’s contract ended after all. Fighters like that don’t fight every day. And certainly not for guest players.
