For the first time this season, on this world circuit B, it is the Italian biathletes who are in the spotlight. Leaving with her number 44 bib, Eleonora Fauner, 25, will make everyone agree.
While she hadn’t done much good since the start of winter, the 25-year-old Transalpine will achieve a superb 10/10 in shooting, coupled with a good skiing time, to achieve the best time.
Fauner won 10 seconds ahead of her younger brother and teammate Hannah Auchentaller, a promising biathlete, who also cleared all the targets.
Norway’s Juni Arnekleiv and Frida Dokken follow at 13sec and 16sec with one bid lap each. Beatrice Trabucchi, another Italian, took 5th place ahead of the best German Juliane Fruehwirt.
Good race also for the Habs Camille Bened and Paula Botet 7th and 8th at 26sec and 27sec, both complete their sprint with an error. Same percentage of success for Gilonne Guigonnat 12th.
Fany Bertrand is in 15th place just ahead of super sprint winner Maren Kirkeeide.
