“None of the changes had to do with the cohesion of the Government. There were people who fell ill, others who had political problems, but did not leave for reasons of cohesion”, said António Costa. Questioned by journalists if the Minister of Agriculture was able to continue in the Government, after the Secretary of State, Carla Alves, resigned, Costa replied that “yes”. Even so, the prime minister assumed that “nobody likes to have problems in their organization” and even commented on the statements by the President of the Republic, who stated that Carla Alves was a “negative political weight” for the Government.
“We do not confuse what is essential, which are the problems that affect the Portuguese. It is on these that we must concentrate”, said António Costa.
