Dogs guarding the Metrostav complex in Prague: They live without movement, water, food and treatment!
Residents of Prague’s Karlín and visitors who pass through or work at the Concrete Plant Prague of TBG Metrostav s.r.o. have been drawing attention to the condition of three Central Asian herding dogs for more than a year. “Those dogs are always locked up and tied up there, in any weather, without movement, food and water, no one even cares,” one of the drivers who supply the concrete plant told Blesk. Vojtěch Cimpl has a similar observation, he drew attention to the problem on Facebook. He and his girlfriend were surprised by the condition of one of the dogs on January 1, when she was walking during a walk.
“He had old dirty water, locked on a latch in the pen. I then went there on Tuesday, the dog again without water,” Cimpl told Blesku. Other people specified that the dogs are in different places on the premises. Two in pens, another by the main gate on a rope. “He’s the worst of it. He is apathetic, just limping, with visible and clearly untreated injuries,” described another witness. This was also confirmed by the visit of Tlapek editors to the site. “The injury is about a year old,” also admitted one of the employees of Vladimír Machálik’s security agency, which the dogs belong to and which is the supplier company of Metrostav. Lightning paws then invited the Veterinary Administration as well as the Police of the Czech Republic and Metrostav to solve the problem.

Metro status: Unacceptable
TBG Metrostav was represented by director Jakub Šimáček. “According to our information, the animals are in condition corresponding to their age and the owner takes care of them, they are vaccinated and equipped with chips. The owner is an experienced breeder, he has been breeding the breed for many years,” he said with the fact that the veterinary control did not detect any irregularities in the past. “If something were to be proven now, her company would deal with it immediately.” Spokeswoman Pavlína Mertl then assured Blesk that any mistreatment of animals on their premises is completely unacceptable for the entire company.
Owner: “I take good care of dogs!”
The owner of the dogs and the head of the agency, Vladimír Machálik, categorically denied any negligence. “Those injuries always appear during the winter and are apparently from salt. But that has already been resolved x times,” he told Blesku. “Of course I will deal with it. We are going to the vet on Friday January 6th, where I will request both treatment of those running and a detailed examination of the dog to confirm the dog’s true condition, he said. “I wish everyone cared about dogs like we do,” he concluded.
They confirmed the doubt
Yesterday, the State Veterinary Administration also arrived at the site and inspected the breeder. “A violation of the law (negligent veterinary care) was established. The breeder was ordered to immediately secure it and improve the breeding conditions,” the organization’s spokesperson Petr Majer told Blesk about its result. According to him, the nutritional status of the dog was adequate for its age. He had water available at the time of the inspection. “An initiative will be submitted to the municipality with extended jurisdiction to initiate administrative proceedings with the breeder for a sanction,” added Majer, adding that the breeding inspection had already been carried out in the past without a finding. However, since the last inspection, the condition of the animal will be checked.
