Volleyball: in Sète, the step was too high for the Toulouse Spacers
Bad operation in the race for the play-offs for the proteges of Patrick Duflos, dryly defeated 3 to 0 in the Hérault lair of the Sétois, direct competitors for qualification, on behalf of the fifteenth day of Ligue A. Everything went surely played in the first set, disputed at will: 30-28 in 34 minutes!
By hosting the Spacer’s, the Arago did not miss a great opportunity to remind the leading teams while Toulouse could not confirm their recent success at Narbonne and certainly see, halfway through the championship, their chances of take part in the play-offs get away… but in this crazy-looking championship, we know that anything can still happen!
This match can simply be roughly summed up in two highlights. The first set, during said the two teams traveled almost side by side.
Because it was only at 8-7 on an attack by Nack Minyem that the locals took the lead for the first time. But the gap never exceeded two points in their favor and the Spacer’s thanks to a Cagliari of the big nights remained in contact to come and equalize at 19 everywhere on an ace of their pointed. We then found Nack Minyem who saved the first set point and immediately offered their first to the visitors who could not conclude it; nor the second, obtained by Cagliari and saved by Gauna. It took a ball out from Pothron to end this interminable first leg 30–28 and which had lasted more than half an hour (34 minutes).
Second run with regrets
In the second set, a point from Chiaravino allowed the visitors to take the lead 7–8, before falling behind 15–12, then picking up at 17–16 thanks to two points from the Toulouse pointu.
Or the Arago, on an ace from Gauna, concluded this round 25–20.
The second highlight of the match was linked to a video refereeing which saw the point awarded to Sète at 5-3 instead of 4 everywhere on a block out of Cagliari. From then on the locals flew away 9-3. The damage was done and the Spacer’s did not see the light again – the score then went from 16–9 to 21–14 before the Sétois won 25–17. It was too much !
