Veganuary arrives in Portugal with discounts in restaurants – Marketeer
Zomato has teamed up with Veond, a national marketplace with discounts on vegan and eco-sustainable solutions, to bring the World Veganuary Movement to the country, whose challenge is to try plant-based food for a month.
The aim of the partnership is to increase the offer and consumption of plant-based meals, without animal protein. As such, throughout the month of January, users will have a special collection on the Zomato app and on Veond, where they will be able to see the vegan and vegan friendly restaurants that have joined this movement.
The idea is that after the month is over, restaurants will continue to have these 100% vegan options on their menus and thus be able to diversify their audiences, making their offer more comprehensive and inclusive.
Olívia, Mother Burger Alter Ego, Sumaya and Shosh are some of the spaces that are already part of the initiative and will enter more throughout the month. Like? Restaurants just have to create a 100% vegan menu with some kind of discount or promotion.
«This pioneering initiative, of great impact, strengthens Zomato’s position in defense of a more sustainable world. We have been defending, publicizing and launching practices that reduce waste and encourage greater care with food and products in Portuguese kitchens, calling for practices with less and less environmental impact. We are really excited about the path we have taken», comments, in a statement, Mariana Boavida, head of PR & Marketing at Zomato.
