Toulouse. Justice orders the expulsion of Travelers on Ramier Island
Seized by the municipality of Toulouse, the judge in chambers ordered, Thursday, January 5, the expulsion, within 48 hours, of the travelers installed in the parking lot of the former exhibition center.
In a decision issued Thursday, January 5, the administrative court of Toulouse ordered the expulsion of travelers installed without authorization in the car park of halls 7 and 8 of the former exhibition center on Ramier Island. The judge orders the occupants to vacate the premises within 48 hours.
A community that has already been subject to eviction near Toulouse
It is the Town hall of Toulouse which seized the summary judge, which can give a decision quickly. Works to accommodate other Travelers
“The judge in chambers noted that, by virtue of its initial destination, such a place is devoid of any facilities to ensure decent health and safety conditions and that connections have been made to the drinking water network and to the electricity network”, according to the Toulouse court.
Outside, the municipality of Toulouse has indicated that rehabilitation work should take place in a brief delay. They are selected by the end of January 2023. This work could accommodate another group of Travelers who had requested it.
