Does Zeman, China or Putin decide? the doctor asked. The castle failed with the criminal complaint
The Office of the President of the Republic failed to file a criminal complaint against psychiatrist and former Minister for Human Rights Džamila Stehlíková, who questioned the running and functioning of the Castle at a time when President Miloš Zeman was ill. According to the police, Stehlíková did not commit a crime, the case was postponed. The decision is not final yet, the Castle wants to defend itself.
“Criminal officers examined the case and came to the conclusion that the case does not involve suspicion of a criminal act. So they postponed the case,” he told the server List of Messages police spokesman Jan Daněk.
The police dealt with the words that the doctor uttered in particular to the castle chancellor Vratislav Mynář last March in the Czech TV program Mát slovo. “It is terrible how absolutely dependent Mr. Zeman is on his surroundings. Mynář manages him and only last year, when Mr. President was ill, we saw that even though the doctors said he was not capable of work, his office continued to work. We don’t know if Zeman, the Chinese embassy, or Putin decides,” the server quoted Stehlíková as saying.
The doctor previously told the server that on September 21 last year, she went to the police to report Castle, where she already gave her position and stands by it. Attorney Artur Ostrý, who represents Stehlíková, did not want to comment further on the decision of the investigators, because he does not have the police’s resolution on postponing the case at his disposal. The castle will file a complaint.
“A complaint will be filed with the supervising public prosecutor against the relevant resolution of the police body to postpone the case, because the conclusions in the adopted resolution are incorrect,” attorney Tomáš Rousek from the law office of Marko Nespala wrote to the server.
The castle has yet another dispute with Stehlíková, the court began to resolve Zeman’s lawsuit last September due to her statements about his health. Stehlíková mentioned on her blog and in the media, among other things, that the president had a metabolic breakdown due to alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. The doctor stated in court that behind her defendant’s statements about Zeman’s health there was a good intention – to save the president’s life. Zeman asks Stehlíková for an apology and a million crowns for the Endangered Children’s Fund. Proceedings at the court will continue at the end of February.
