Big trade in the extra league! Sparta got a representative, Boleslav got two players
Sparta’s extra-league hockey players will strengthen national team forward Pavel Kousal, who comes from Mladá Boleslav. The currently most productive skater player has signed a contract with Prague until April 2025. In the opposite direction, forwards Daniel Přibyl and David Dvořáček are heading in the opposite direction on loan until the end of the season. At the same time, Mladá Boleslav released another attacker, Jakub Kotala, on loan to Vítkovice. The clubs announced the announcement on their official websites.
“We have had problems with the center for a long time. We absolutely needed to bring someone in, and if it was to be a quality center at the same time, we had to sacrifice something,” explained the departure of Středočechy’s key striker, sports director Martin Ševc. The fact that the twenty-four-year-old forward would have left Boleslav anyway and had already agreed on cooperation with Sparta played a role. “We just hastened something, which would have happened anyway,” Ševc said.
The Jihlava graduate leaves Mlada Boleslav after almost six years, in which he gradually continued to be a key player and earned invitations to the national team. Currently, Kousal has 12 starts for the national team, his last appearance was in November at the Karjala tournament.
“At twenty-four, he has his best hockey years ahead of him. He can already be a team leader and be very productive,” said sports manager Jaroslav Hlinka. Kousal has collected 222 points in 29 matches.
National team striker Pavel Kousal is leaving Mladá Boleslav for Sparta, where he signed a multi-year contract ahead of time
Přibyl and Dvořáček leave for Mladá Boleslav instead of Kousal. “Příba asked to be released to the team, where she will get more space. We have a great relationship and we decided to comply with him,” said Hlinka. Sparta still owns the player rights to both attackers. “We will discuss with David Dvořáček about continuing in Sparta in the next seasons, we are certainly not closing a single door back to Sparta,” added Hlinka.
The Central Bohemians believe that a pair of offensive players will help them to improve and improve their results, Mladá Boleslav lost the last five games and failed in nine out of ten games. That’s why coach Ladislav Čihák ended up on the substitutes’ bench early on Wednesday. “We expect both of them to help us especially with the offensive game,” said Ševc.
After the arrival of Přibyl and Dvořáček, Kotala, who did not do so well in so many games and collected five points in the team’s 21 matches, ended. “We have been registering Vítkovice’s interest in Kety for some time. And since our attacking ranks have now been filled with new arrivals, it is clear that there would be no room left for anyone. That’s why we decided to relax,” Ševc added.
