Several temperature records were set in Northeast Bulgaria during the holidays
Several temperature records were set in North-Eastern Bulgaria during the New Year holidays, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) – Varna branch reported to BTA.
The most significant is from yesterday, January 2, when 17.9 degrees were measured in Dobrich, which is 2.4 more than the previous achievement, dating back to 1984, shared the leaders of the “Forecasts” sector in the Veneta Todorova branch.
In the Dobrus city there was also a record on December 31, when it reached a temperature of 16.6 degrees, four tenths more than the achievements in 2009.
On the last day of 2022, record degrees were also recorded in Varna – 17.4. In the seaside city, the previous achievement was in the distant 1947 – 16.8 degrees. The same is the case at Cape Kaliakra, where it was 13.8 degrees on December 31, 2022 – two tenths more than the previous record of 1947.
In general, the days around the Christmas and New Year holidays are unusually warm for the season, summarized for BTA by NIMH – Varna branch. The forecast indicates that until January 10, the degrees will remain high for the season. The warm weather will continue until January 20, when minimum temperatures are expected to drop. Snowfall is possible in the middle of the month, but not on the sea coast.
