Russian Ball is held in Rome
The Grand Russian Ball, which will be held in Rome for the 11th time, will be dedicated to the 150th anniversary of birthday composer Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The event will take place on January 14, 2023 at the Brancaccio Palace in the heart of the Italian capital. By tradition, the evening will be decorated in the atmosphere of a social event with classical ballroom dancing and individual musical costumes of the 19th century.
The works of Sergei Rachmaninoff will be performed at the ex-premier of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, pianist Alexei Vaker, the vocal parts will be performed by a graduate, and now a senior teacher of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, mezzo-soprano Elena Dyadyanova and soprano Yulia Veloche, who graduated from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.
The event was choreographed by the President of the National Dance Evaluation Company, Nino Graziano Luca.
The ball will be held for the 11th time by the Friends of Great Russia waterfall.
Last year, due to pandemic restrictions, the gala was cancelled. This year the event will change its name.
“Perhaps we will be able to replace the word “Russian” with “historical” in order to avoid unnecessary problems, but Rome will understand what’s what anyway,”
– said one of the organizers of the ball, Yulia Bazarova.
