RTL Today – “Great election year” in Luxembourg: Parties expressed their wishes for 2023 online
In Luxembourg, 2023 will be a “super electoral year” with municipal elections in June and legislative elections in October.
An additional reason for political parties not to forget to keep the population their best wishes on social networks.
The DP, the party of Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, obviously enjoyed a large audience with the traditional New Year’s interview with the Minister of State on RTL. The other parties used Facebook in particular to send their wishes. General declarations and slogans were present.
Form-wise, CSV and LSAP struggled the most using videos and music. The contribution of the LSAP includes short messages from its European commissioner and successively from all the socialist ministers. Paulette Lenert intervenes at the end of the clip. The Socialist Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health is filmed in the forest with her dog and sends the following message: “In 2023, we will be able to put new accents and in 2023 we will put new accents (…) so that we today, and our children tomorrow, live in a better world.“
To know what this means concretely, we will have to wait for the electoral program. Ditto for the CSV, whose two presidents, Claude Wiseler and Elisabeth Margue, say in their wishes on Facebook, that the important subjects should finally be dealt with: “Housing construction, the energy crisis, the school system, to name but a few.“
As for the ADR and the Pirates, they published a simple postcard with a message: “We wish you and your family a Happy New Year and all the best for the New Year“for ADR and for pirates”2023, our best wishes for the new year“. The Gréngs didn’t make it big with only a small clip on their Facebook page, with the illustration of a penguin sliding on its belly and this brief message”We wish you all a happy new year.” . As for the “déi Lénk” party, it published nothing during the holidays.
