Dominik Feri already has a court date: On Valentine’s Day!
According to earlier information, he faces up to 10 years in prison, because he is also being prosecuted for the crime of rape committed against a child, a seventeen-year-old girl. “I welcome that after a slow two-year wait, I will be able to present the evidence proving my innocence to the court. So far, I have not been able to continue to publicly comment in any substantive way, which has resulted in the media being dependent only on one-sided statements. But that will finally change soon,” an ex-ambassador noted earlier for Seznam Zpravy.
The police charged Feri last March, the public prosecutor indicted him in mid-December. “Accused violence is charged by the indictment with the conduct described under three acts and qualified as two completed crimes of rape and one attempted crime of rape,” said Aleš Cimbala, the spokesman of the Prague City Prosecutor’s Office at the time.
Police began investigating Feri after several women accused her of sexual pressure, harassment and violence in the media last spring. Feri, who had numerous supporters, especially among the younger generation, resigned from the parliamentary mandate after the women’s testimony and announced that he would not run for the House of Representatives. He also finished in TOP 09 and withdrew from public life.
