“Continuing Change” returns the mandate if their declaration fails to gain support
Exactly three months after the early parliamentary elections, the president hands over the second exploratory mandate for the cabinet tomorrow. The folder will receive a nomination for the prime minister from “We continue the change” academician Nikolay Denkov.
This evening he is to send letters to all parliamentary formations in the 48th Parliament for a meeting tomorrow after the handover of the mandate. At it, he will present a declaration with the priorities of a regular government. They will be submitted to the National Assembly and should be voted on this week.
If “Continuing Change” gathers support around this declaration, you will offer a minority government composition. If such support is lacking, it will return the president’s mandate unfulfilled.
According to GERB, whose first attempt failed, the chance of the second being successful is not high. Desislava Atanasova claims that the part of the priorities that will be set in the declaration “We continue the change” are important for all Euro-Atlantic formations in the parliament.
“Even if they find support for some of their priorities, that doesn’t mean we’re going to support them from the agreement,” she commented.
For bTV, “We continue the change” specified that you will continue with your attempt to form the government only if this declaration is supported in the parliament. DPS refused to comment that they supported the text, and “Vazrazhdane” stated:
“The best thing you can do is ‘Continuing Change’ is to return immediately after handing over his second term back to the president. The second-term government cannot be formed and any delay in the procedure will only prolong the agony of the stillborn 48th National Assembly. The best solution for Bulgaria with early parliamentary elections.”
The former partners in the government of Kiril Petkov from BSP today refrained from commenting. “Democratic Bulgaria” revealed that if the declaration is supported in the parliament, the composition of the minority government will also be proposed.
“We must do everything to have a stable majority. Whether this is achieved with a second term remains to be seen. Let me say again: we will really do everything possible to make this happen,” said Ivaylo Mirchev from “Democratic Bulgaria”.
If “We continue the change” fail in their attempt for the government, according to the first in the parliament, the president should hand the third mandate to “Democratic Bulgaria”.
“If a mandate is given to the DB, there is a chance that it will receive support and the government will be formed, if not – another early election,” said Desislava Atanasova.
“I would say that we should concentrate on the second term and it is the real chance for Bulgaria. The third mandate is a crisis, our goal is the second,” said Ivaylo Mirchev.
“Bulgarski Vozhod” told news.bg that there is a chance for the government, and they are ready to get the third mandate and will hold support talks with all parties.
The president hands over a second mandate tomorrow at 11 a.m. and bTV will show you the ceremony live.
