“We’re unstoppable. It was the first two São Silvestres, in recent years, that won. It’s going well, but this is a line that goes up and down. Let’s see, I hope it doesn’t go down so fast. It was a difficult race. very windy”, said Miguel Marques, who turns 28 on the next 10th.
For Mariana Machado, the victory had a special character, as her mother, Albertina Machado, had been twice champion in Amadora (1987 and 1988). “It’s a very special event. I’ve thought about participating for many years. I’ve heard about São Silvestre da Amadora since I was a little girl. It has history, several international level athletes and stars of our athletics have already run, including my mother. Fortunately, I managed to be here and live the spirit of this competition. It’s really special”, said the Braga native.
