The President of Belarus signed laws on the rights of the new parliament
Alyaksandr Lukashenka has been approved in the laws on the activities of the parliament, MIR 24 reports.
Now, instead of two parliamentary sessions, there will be one – from September to June. A number of them were handed over to the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly. For example, the election of the court of the Constitutional Court and members of the CEC, the conclusion on the main issues of foreign and domestic policy. Also now secured the right of Parliament to the meeting of the Attorney General, chairmen for control over public administration and the Ministry of Health.
“We changed the constitution. It was a popular decision. Accordingly, the structure of power has changed. This is the evolutionary path of the country’s development. New authorities have emerged. The presidents were redistributed between the commissioner, parliament, executive power, and the Council. There is also the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly, which received a number of functions that used to be with the president or the executive branch. In accordance with this, it is necessary to change the legislation on all state bodies,” said Oleg Gaidukevich, deputy of the House of Representatives of the Congress of the Republic of Belarus.
It is envisaged that the member of the Council of the Republic on vital issues is the President of Belarus, who fulfills his duties to the highest degree. At the same time, the chairman of the upper house of parliament will be appointed by the president if the head of state becomes vacant.
