The court called for Rath to return to prison. I’m counting on it, ex-governor
The regional court in Prague sent former Central Bohemian David Rath and other governors convicted in the corruption case to prison. Convicts have ten days to accept the summons, and must enter prison within five days of being served.

Rath now works as a doctor at the hospital in the Pankrák prison. He has already communicated with the court, he expects to return to the prison on the set date, he said.
“The invitation to start the prison sentence was sent to all the convicts just today. For all of them, a deadline of five days is set from the delivery of this summons,” said court spokesman Jiří Wažik.

Rath is on duty at the hospital in the Pankrák prison on Saturday. “This week will be the third, so effectively I’m already in jail,” Rath said. I will wait until I hand over the keys to the court next week and return at the court date,” he added.
Rath was released from the Brno prison, where he was serving a seven-year sentence for corruption, after 3.5 years in January this year, but in June he was finally found guilty in the second branch of the corruption case and the courts extended his earlier sentence by a year.

As in the first part of the Rath case, the central trio of the second branch of the case were Kateřina Kottová, the former director of the Kladno hospital, and her husband Petr Kott. According to the court, at the turn of 2011 and 2012, they arranged bribes for the manipulation of tenders in the Central Bohemia region for hundreds of millions of crowns. Courts also extended Kotto’s sentences to eight years in prison.
Six more people faced the indictment, including the former CEO of Metrostav, Pavel Pilát. The courts sent Lucia Novanská and Pavla Drážďanský to prison, the other defendants were punished, conditions. The courts banned Metrostav from participating in public tenders for three years.
