According to the Defense Forces, a record number of women completed military service in Finland this year.
In 2022, the Defense Forces and the Border Guard trained about 1,040 women, which is the first time that the number exceeds 1,000.
More than 1,200 women started voluntary military service this year, which is also the highest number in history, with a couple of hundred women dropping out before completing their service period.
By the end of this year, more than 12,000 women in Finland have received reserve training.
