Ligue 1. The TFC bows heavily against OM
The TFC was no match for OM during the 16th day of Ligue 1 this Thursday, December 29. The Violets lost six to one.
Another blow for the Toulouse club. the TFC faced OM at the Vélodrome stadium during the 16th day of Ligue 1 this Thursday, December 29. For the resumption of the championship, the Violets therefore rubbed shoulders with a big piece. And they didn’t measure up. They are indeed inclined six goals to one.
The Toulousains were however rather well started. After a minute of applause in memory of referee Johan Hamel and another in tribute to Pelé, they started the game with determination. The TFC thus creates two opportunities from the outset. Without success. OM opened the scoring in the 13th minute.
OM left the Violets no chance
The Violets did not let themselves be defeated by this but from Valentin Rongier and Farès Chaïbi trying to equalize in the 38th minute. The TFC will score well shortly after… but against their camp. Rasmus Nicolaisen indeed tries a pass to his goalkeeper, Maxime Dupé, who misses the ball and lets it enter the cages.
After the break, the Violets are led two to zero. And it’s not going to work out. Sead Kolašinac actually scored a third goal for OM in the 52nd minute. A fourth followed ten minutes later with a strike from Dimitri Payet. The gap is widening more and more between the two clubs.
Fourth straight defeat in Ligue 1 for the TFC
However, Toulouse managed to avoid a draw thanks to a penalty converted by Branco van den Boomen in the 66th minute. Alas, OM also executed a penalty. Cengiz Sous converted him in the 80th minute. And only two minutes later, Nuno Tavares scores for OM. The score is six to one.
The Violets therefore bow heavily against the Marseillais. It is their fourth consecutive defeat in Ligue 1. The TFC thus finds itself in 13th place in the standings, just ahead of the red zone. He must now face Ajaccio. The match will take place this Sunday, January 1 at 3 p.m. at the Stadium in Toulouse.
