Rouen – Anglet (Magnus league, 27th day) | Magnus League – Ice Hockey
What a party for RHE76! The Dragons simply crushed the AHPB on the ice of Île Lacroix. A big victory with the score of 10-2 thanks in particular to Christophe Boivin as a detonator, the great trio of Lampérier, the PP won by Beauchemin and the solid blue line kept by Dodéro and Deberge. Tonin Caubet, preferred to Pintaric, did a good job (93.9% stoppage).
This success with the manner, moreover, offers the second place to the car Rouennais, meanwhile, Angers stumbled in Chamonix. The Hormadi, apart from Victor Ranger was quite apathetic. It has nothing to do with the commandos who came to triumph here just over a month ago.
Two nights after opening the Christmas packages, the players on the banks of the Seine gave their supporters a nice last gift with this shower of goals. Fabrice Lhenry’s players did more than avoid the Basque trap. They twisted the blow to a team that resisted them quite well until tonight and that in the most scathing way. Performance of the Normans who send a new strong message to the other Magnus league teams, after a victory with a character brought back from Cergy: we will (still) have to count on this Rouen there in 2023!
New setback on the other hand for the Basque club, which is having difficulty in the efforts to renew with each match. After this 5th consecutive reverse, on the road, and a rather weak performance, qualification for the play-offs moves away (definitely?).
Frankly completely upside down in defense, despite a point-blank recovery from Ranger (5’30), and the reduction of the score of Dame-Malka in PP (2-1 at 7’24) in reaction to the first two Rouen goals , Decock’s teammates came close. They were dominated in almost all areas of the game. Duels, favorable rebounds, turnovers, discipline, speed, everything often went in the direction of the Seino-Marins who improved their highlights with goals from Boivin (1 -0 at 3’50 & 3-1 at 9’33), Tessier (2-0 at 05’06) and Lampérier (4-1 at 12’06).
Forced to react to avoid weariness but too messy despite intentions, Pierrick Rezard’s players are again punished in the middle third. Ondrej Roman, perfect in the slot, quickly shattered any Basque hopes if there were any (5-1 at 22’01), Tomasino and his phenomenal burst of speed extended the lead with a nice feint over Robson (6-1 at 26’40). Annoyed, the visitor goalkeeper later made a double uppercut, mitten and shield, in the face of Boivin, under the eyes of Mr. Ernecq, who did not sanction the blows (27’15). Shouldn’t the physical integrity of players be protected? The scandal was camouflaged by another artist of the whistle, M.Gremion, another prodigal son of M.Furet, no doubt. Never mind, aggression seems to be tolerated in the Magnus League now. It’s not just Mathew Robson’s slaps that get lost… Joris Bedin was going to calm the aggressor. Thanks to a good forward check from his line, the winger plunged Hormadi on the way to dishonor (7-1 at 37’48).
Anglet did not come back with a revengeful attitude in the last period, nevertheless after the eighth goal of the Dragons (Guimond 8-1 at 45’34), the Basques succeeded perfectly in their second power play (Ranger 8-2 at 48 ’57). The five-man attack is probably the only positive point to remember for the visitors of Péchalat.
Then followed the point of honor of the Rouennais to offer the ten to their public. Loïc Lampérier on the rebound in traffic (9-2 at 51’26) and the hands, and what hands (!) of Beauchemin (10-2 at 52’22).
This victory puts some cheer in the hearts of the crowd after two last “average” performances on Lacroix Island by the Dragons. It is perhaps quite the opposite for the club of the Basque country, which saw the bogeyman this evening and will accept, before New Year’s Eve, the red lantern, Briançon. Rouen will try not to spoil this solid success in Bordeaux (5th) in order to end the year 2022 well.
