Prince Albert of Monaco presented the outlines of this educational initiative: the creation of a platform for teaching, in French, the law of the sea, the geopolitics of the seas and oceans, as well as environmental issues. and related.
The President of the Regional Council, very attached to the quality of relations between his region and Monaco, wanted to affirm this clear commitment of the community:
“If there is one Mediterranean state that is ahead in the maritime domain, it is the Principality of Monaco! For more than a century, it has been building infrastructures, tools and major institutions in this area. On the occasion of the launch of Méditerranée du Futur, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco presented to me the project of the Academy of the Sea, a real place of training around three clear priorities: the law of the sea, the international relations issues related to the oceans and the sea, and major environmental themes.
As a pilot region for ecological planning in France, committed to a 100% climate approach that is unique in Europe, I would like the region to support this absolutely essential dynamic.
I will therefore be present next March in Monaco, on the occasion of Oceans Week, in order to present the outlines of this regional commitment alongside the Principality.” declared Renaud MUSELIER, President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, Deputy President of the Regions of France, at the end of this interview.
His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco thanked the President of the Regional Council, Renaud Muselier, for having invited him to Act V of the Mediterranean of the Future and is delighted to welcome him to Monaco in March to define together the part that the South region wishes to take in this educational project.
“The Académie de la Mer seems to me to be in phase with the theme of the “Mediterranean of the future”. I can only be pleased to see the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region join this project, the interest of which is to be assessed in the light of the challenges expected, the Mediterranean, like all the other seas and oceans, will have to facing the future » affirmed His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.
