They were dispatched to the scene around 4:00 a.m. by an operations officer due to a call regarding suspicious activity. “According to a report by an alert citizen, a pair of young men were supposed to be looking at parked vehicles and lying under them,” says police spokesman Richard Hrdina.

In Flöglova, which in terms of size is one of the smaller streets in Prague, it was not a problem to find the two men. When the police arrived at the scene, they were just sitting in the car. “During the inspection, the police suspected that both of them were slightly nervous and unwell wet back which they checked explained that their car was not running and tried to fix it,” continues the spokesperson.
Upon closer investigation, the police found out that the young men had immediately in the trunk 7 stolen catalytic converters. Both men subsequently confessed to the theft. “The suspects ended up in handcuffs and were taken to the police station. A case with damage exceeding twenty thousand crowns is being investigated for suspected theft. If found guilty, they face up to two years behind bars,” concludes the Hero.
