Despite the rest granted for the holidays, Romelu Lukaku still came to training.
Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku trained on Christmas Day at Inter’s centre. The proof that he is ultra motivated to recover his best level as quickly as possible and thus be able to help his Lombard formation.
Lukaku rolled up his sleeves
Lukaku has only made five appearances for Inter this season due to repeated injuries. He had returned just in time to participate in the World Cup with his Belgian selection. But, in Qatar, he did not show himself in his best light. Roberto Martinez didn’t start him in any of the three group matches and when he appeared on the pitch he was a disappointment. Against Croatia, he even missed a huge opportunity to send his team to the round of 16.
Rather than ruminating on his fate, the former Mancunian however got back to work. At the step of a Kylian Mbappé, he advanced his return to training. According to The Gazzetta dello Sport, he resolved to train during the three days of rest granted by Simone Inzaghi to his players. Including Christmas Day.
Lukaku, who is on loan from Chelsea, played 88 minutes in Inter’s 2-0 friendly win over Reggina on Thursday, scoring a second-half goal.
