Hapal’s gift? Neither Prague’s “S” nor the champions have the longest vacation in the league, but Baník
/INFOGRAPHIC/ Thirty-eight days! Baník Ostrava footballers do not see each other for so long during joint training. This is clearly the longest layoff of the entire league peloton. This follows from a survey of Deník, which the editors conducted across the country during December. For example, the champion Plzeň had three days shorter off, Prague’s Sparta even two weeks.

It’s a bit of a paradox. Especially compared to Pilsen, which recorded twelve matches in the European Cup in the autumn. After the last competition match (November 19, 2022), Baníkovci trained with Sparta for another week, and left for vacation on November 24. They will not meet again until Monday, January 2 (In the photo gallery and video above, you can still recall the atmosphere of Baník’s last home match with Sparta in Ostrava – note. Red.).
