Adama Ballo, a young Malian threatened with expulsion
His boss, a butcher in the Rouen conurbation was at his side: Adama Ballo has just learned that he would finally be regularized, he who feared expulsion.
It was their lawyer who warned them this Tuesday, December 27, 2022: Adama Ballo won his case, he will soon be regularized. A huge reduction for this young 20-year-old Malian butcher who was under an obligation to leave French territory.
Around him, a group has come together to support him and in the front line, his boss, a butcher from Darnétal. Adama followed his apprenticeship by his side, he had since been on a permanent contract in the shop “La Boucherie d’Alex”. Every day, clients asked about her procedure.
“Good news!!! Adama will be regularized. He will receive his papers within 1 month. Thank you all for your support in all their forms”
Arrived in Rouen as an isolated minor, Adama trained as a butcher before obtaining a permanent contract. If everything seemed favorable for the renewal of his residence permit, during the examination of his file, the prefecture had concluded that his birth certificate extract was not in conformity.
Last June, the mayor of Rouen, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, asked the Prefecture asking him to reconsider his decision. An online petition has has nearly 40,000 signatures.
It is the Administrative Court which requires the Prefecture to grant him his regularization within a period of one month, as well as the payment of compensation of 1,000 euros.
“Adama, he’s happy, he’s relieved, he knows he’ll be able to stay and work. We feel like we’ve worked for something good. It was a farcical situation!” tells us his boss Irwin Lafile, contacted by telephone.
