When Ukraine can use the Patriot system: the Armed Forces answered
In Ukraine, a list of military personnel who are the first to train at the Patriot air defense system has already been formed.
To teach the Ukrainian military to use the American air defense system Patriotit may take several months.
This was said by the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat on the air of the telethon.
The Ukrainian command has already prepared a list of military personnel who are learning to use the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex.
“The commander of the Air Force, General Oleschuk, already has a list of people who can go to training at this complex in the near future. Maybe with Patriot it will be longer, a few months, maybe it will take. it is necessary to thoroughly master it, and then teach others to operate this complex,” said Ignat.
He also noted that previously it took several weeks for the Ukrainian military to master the German IRIS-T air defense system and the Norwegian NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system.
Patriot systems for Ukraine
On Wednesday, December 21, US President Joe Biden confirmed the transfer of the Patriot system to the Armed Forces. The White House also announced the allocation of up to one billion dollars in military aid to Ukraine.

According to a military expert, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in reserve Roman Svitan, the quick installation of the Patriot system from the USA to Ukraine will take up to two weeks, and for their development the military will need about a month.
