Toulouse FC defends Zakaria Aboukhlal accused of advocating Salafism
Accused of advocating Salafism by an Arabic-language media, Zakaria Aboukhlal received massive support from Toulouse FC and the Moroccan Federation. The TFC player has nothing to be ashamed of for all of his relatives.
A controversy that no one saw coming. Coming out of the World Cup 2022, Zakaria Aboukhlal has been the target of unexpected accusations. The Arabic site Achkayen.ma openly accused the player of FC Toulouse of proselytism and the apology of Salafism.
Serious statements that the Toulouse club did not fail to firmly contradict this Monday morning.
In a scathing statement, the TFC defended its young Moroccan international. “The Toulouse Football Club condemns the accusations made by a site with regard to our player Zakaria Aboukhlal and joins forces with the Moroccan Football Federation to ensure its full support and confidence in our player.
The Club condemns the accusations made by this site, false, unfounded and degrading, which damage the image of our player, and reserves the right to use all the remedies available to defend the image and the ‘integrity of Zakaria,’ the official website reads.
Morocco had mentioned a player at the “exemplary mentality“and”the federation was going to use all possible avenues to defend its player“.
