Will 2023 be even better than 2022? At the end of the year, the prestigious research firm CFRA Search already planning good things for Airbus with a “major acceleration of aircraft deliveries”.
A rebound in deliveries expected
The analysis is delivered by Colin Scarola. The vice-president of CFRA Research estimates that, in 2023, there will be a rebound in deliveries… for several reasons.
First, the firm is betting that the “recently canceled major improvements to the aerospace supply chain” should allow Airbus, but also its American rival Boeingto produce more and therefore deliver a greater number of devices in 2023.
Next, CFRA Research also expects an increase in demand for leisure travel (travel for pleasure). “Robust employment growth and substantial household bank savings will drive continued growth in these trips,” says Colin Scarola.
Finally, the acceleration of the recovery in business and international travel could be an additional factor in the direction of an increase in aircraft deliveries in 2023.
Airbus ran into difficulties in 2022
These assessors are positive for Airbus and its subcontractors, after a year 2022 where the aircraft manufacturer’s objective (approximately 700 aircraft deliveries over the calendar year, editor’s note) was not reached.
The manufacturer had to refrain from this objective, Tuesday, December 6, 2022. The reason? The “complex operating environment” in which Airbus operates, including supply difficulties. Will these issues persist in 2023? Answer in the next few months…
