POLITICIANS IN THEIR OWN WORDS The Deputy Mayor of Prague 3 for the Greens on his Facebook on December 15 about the transformation of Wenceslas Square
The authoritative building permit for the return of trams to Wenceslas Square is great news for all residents of Prague 3. The capital is planning to open a capacity line on Vinohradská Street via Václavák, Národní třída and Anděl with the new tram 21, which will run at 8-minute intervals. People from upper Žižkov and Vinohrady will thus be able to choose whether to go to the nine or twenty-one on their way to Václavák, Národka, etc. You will be about 10 minutes faster from Flora na Vodičková.
Trams via Václavák will simply improve the accessibility of Vinohrady and Žižkov to the city center. Until 1980, it was possible to get from Václavák in Vinohrady much faster than today. Trams were canceled here in connection with the construction of metro lines, which, although the connection between the outskirts and the center of Prague was greatly improved, the connection towards Žižkov and Vinohrady suffered a lot. In addition to the metro, people simply started to rely mainly on cars.
The competition for the construction contractor is already underway, so I would like to ask the capital city management, whatever it may be, not to stop this event and send it on for implementation. Prague needs it like salt.
