Dinamo fights but loses against Venice 86-76
PalaTaliercio still bitter for Sassari who comes out defeated 86-76. Banco di Sardegna gave a lot from the bench (Dowe excellent, Gandini positive) in a game still played without Gentile and Treier, they also led for several minutes in the first three quarters, but it was not enough to beat an opponent with a very long roster. stronger in rebounding (+20) and very smart in uncertain situations. The only real regret, the 12/21 from the line which weighed especially in the final when Reyer extended
The Chronicle – The startup defenses are highlighted. Venezia closes the area and then Banco scores from beyond the arc with Robinson, Jones and Kruslin for +5: 4-9 in the 4th minute. It is Spissu from Sassari who shakes Venice: assist between the legs for Willis and 5 points. The hosts prevail in rebounds and inside the area with Watt (15-12), but with Devecchi and Diop in defense and Kruslin also ready in attack, Sassari closes the first set up front.
In the second quarter the Dowe-Diop axis works and it’s the maximum advantage: +7 in the 13th minute. Even Diop however goes to two fouls and Bucchi included Gandini with confidence, given that each substitution scored at least one basket. Bramos promotes the return of Reyer who then overtakes with Watt’s free throw for the 8-0 break. Robinson and Dowe wake up the attack and at halftime the match is in perfect balance: 39-39.
Back on the field, Sassari puts up the hands of the shooters Kruslin and Bandzius and takes the lead a couple of times, but Venice under the basket raises its voice with Watt and Willis (6 offensive rebounds): -2 in the 26th minute.
The match becomes confusing (also due to inconsistent refereeing) and Venice takes advantage of it to try and break away: 61-53 with a triple by Parks almost on the siren.
Banco puts in what they have, even more with Gandini who even crushes, but Granger creates for himself and for his teammates, like in the assist for the former Tessitori who gives the maximum advantage: 69-60 in the 33rd minute. Banco fights, it also ends up -10 in the 36th minute with Venezia who also takes advantage of the errors in the line by the biancoblù and some home whistles, so much so that in the final Bucchi takes the second coach and is expelled.
