2023 WJC Time, Schedule and Live Stream
The 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship starts on Monday when Finland faces Switzerland and opens its tournament at 11:00 a.m. Finland was millimeters away from winning the 2022 competition. The ever-competitive Finland last won this competition in 2019, narrowly defeating Canada in the 2022 championship match in Edmonton. The Finns have won a total of five Junior World Championship golds since 1987, and since the mid-2010s they have become a serious annual contender. This year’s Finland list is not as great as some of its predecessors. But as we have seen recently at all IIHF levels, Finland practically always exceeds the sum of its components.

In the history of the World Cup, Switzerland has won only one bronze medal (1998). It has managed to reach a brave fourth place in the new millennium about once every ten years (2002, 2010, 2019). Can we really count on a team led by head coach Marco Bayer to leave Moncton and try to win a medal this year?
