They are Berlin’s Christmas Angels
Of Sabine Kleier and Mary Lou Künzel
While everyone else celebrates, they provide a Christmas Eve and holiday celebration for us.
These angels don’t have wings, but they are (also) there for us at Christmas. They help and take care of us. These angels are firefighters, bus and train drivers, police officers, nursing and home workers, rescue workers or service providers such as saleswomen and hairdressers.
While for most people the contemplative holiday mood in front of christmassbaum was rung, they were still in the stress of work – some even all night.
“On christmas eve it’s a little quieter. Most patients come on the first or delayed second holiday, but we have enough staff on site,” says chief physician Dr. Paavo Beth (46) from the rescue center at Martin Luther.
BZ says thank you for working for us!
