Café Elektric, Fruit Market 6
It opened in 2018 Francesca Kolowratgreat-niece of the count and car racer Alexander Kolowrat-Krakowsky, owns a restaurant in the heart of Prague – so it is probably not surprising that Café Electric is located directly in the premises of the Baroque Kolowrat Palace. Formerly a theater club, you can now find a stylish establishment where you can start with breakfast, continue with a gourmet lunch and stay until the evening for a great drink or wine. The owner wanted to use her great-uncle’s legacy when renovating the space, so here it is the furniture and other interior elements are somewhat reminiscent of racing cars of the 1920s. From the point of view of gastronomy, however, the offer is thoroughly modern: the chefs here think not only of carnivores, but also for vegans, vegetarians and pescetarians. On weekdays, you can enjoy a light breakfast here anytime from morning to evening, a real heaven for lovers brunches but it is the local weekend menu. On Saturday and Sunday, they will serve you breakfast from 9 am to 4 pm; there are several sweet and savory dishes to choose from, but the most famous are their vegan matcha pancakes.

Goodlok, Jungmann square 18
If you do not suffer from prolonged sitting in a soft armchair, energy-intensive English breakfasts and pancakes do not appeal to you, but you still like to treat yourself to healthy and nutritious food as the basis of a quality day, you must definitely try Goodluck, which you can find right on Jungmann Square. The original project started with the production and distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables. It caught on so much that the owners managed to open a brick-and-mortar bistro, which also includes its own fresher and fermenter. In the enterprise except signature offers of fermented and cold-pressed products, you can also find a simple daily menu. It cannot be described as purely breakfast, but not purely lunch, and is subject to the idea that food doesn’t have to be fancy or overpriced: especially when it is composed of high-quality and nutritious components. We tried the omelette with boiled rice, kimchi and pickled yellow radish and it’s a fact that it’s something quite different than what one is up to brunches commonly used. We definitely recommend a visit – they are open from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
