According to the police, three teenagers may have committed the vandalism in Budapest on Saturday. The windshields of dozens of cars were broken in the 8th arrondissement. The young people identified him not long after and interrogated him. It is not yet known why the windshields of the parked cars were broken, it was reported in the M1 News.
On Saturday morning, many parked cars were vandalized in and around Bérkocsis Street in Józsefváros.
There were those that only had one, but also those that had several bottles broken.
Bérkocsis, Tolnai Lajos and Somogyi streets were covered everywhere with shards of glass.
The perpetrators damaged so many vehicles that at first one could only guess what their exact number might be. Finally, according to police data, 36 cars were damaged.
The Józsefváros investigators identified a 12- and 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl in connection with the crime.
According to the Budapest Police Headquarters, the perpetrators were arrested a few hours later on Nyugati Square, and then brought to the VIII. to the District Police Station.
The investigators interrogated the 14-year-old girl as a suspect due to the well-founded suspicion of 36 counts of vandalism causing minor damage. There is no information about what made the young man run amok.
The motorists – being Christmas Eve – finally used a forced solution. Some people glued cardboard in place of the missing glass, others wrapped foil on their cars. Since a vehicle can only be driven in a condition that is technically passable, the owners can use the cars next time even if they have already been repaired.
