Around Limburg
In search of greenery and strong images, we recommend the walk in Limburg which leads to the installation Reading between the lines, also called “transparent church of Looz” (2011). Now famous (thank you Instagram), this creation by the architectural duo Gijs and Van Vaerenbergh reproduces the silhouette of a church in steel planks, which appears and disappears depending on the angle of view. To be seen at sunset, in the middle of the orchards. From the Grootloonstraat in Looz, various loops lead there (follow the beacons for circuits of 4 to 12.5 km). By bike, the church is located between nodes 154 and 155.
Great outdoors in Saint-Hubert
Between marked trails, GR and GPS tracks, you just have to prefer yourself to walk in Belgium! But for a real change of scenery and a forest immersion, head to Saint-Hubert. Wallonia Belgium Tourism’s 20 essential hikes guide offers a 20 km circuit starting from the Fagne de la Doneuse and along a stream. Long enough and physical enough to stay focused on the present moment.

In Boom or Gesves
Artists had fun in our landscapes. Their works of land art, in Boom, intimating to adventure, to discovery. Something to share an original experience with the family… And create a memory. Let’s go in search of trolls, near Antwerp, at the De Schorre estate. For the electro festival tomorrowland, the world famous Danish artist Thomas Dambo has installed seven giant trolls (between 7 and 18 m high). The place is huge… The hunt for giants will give you a hard time. In the same vein, near Ciney, discover the Sentier d’Art de Gesves (13 km), which is suitable for the Sentiers d’Art de Condroz-Famenne.

Amay Lake
For a beautiful trip around a lake or a pond, we recommend the Lac de la Gravière, in Amay, less known than the unmissable stretches of Nisramont or Eau d’Heure. More than 120 species of birds and nest.
The offshore wind
The oxygen-rich sea air helped reduce stress, regulate sleep, and regulate emotions. A trip to the sea provides a real boost. Even if it is sprinkled with spray. Watching it improve mood, but also fight stress and cognitive burnout. The sea plays on all your senses. To really immerse yourself in the marine world, we suggest that you, before the beach, survey the highest dune in the country, the Hoge Blekker, (33 m high) in Coxyde, which is linked to the Doornpanne by a massif of 235 ha from a single tenant. For the physical challenge and the adventure, which changes from the dam.
Nail trees in Herve
The fashion is for sylvotherapy, this Japanese “forest bath” (shinrin-yoku). In Belgium too, the worship of trees is a long-lived tradition. In the Pays de Herve, there are dozens of “nail trees” or “ragged trees”, supposed to evacuate ailments and diseases when a piece of iron pierces their bark. Going with the family to discover these healing plants is an excellent pretext for an excursion. Don’t run into them, there are always some positive choices to be made… You can have fun finding chapels right next door, which are supposed to reintegrate the pagan cult into the Christian saint.
