The Prague Botanic Garden in Troja will also be open on Christmas Day
People can also visit the Prague Botanical Garden during the Christmas holidays, even on Christmas Day. You can see evergreen trees and perennials or the oldest orchid of the botanical garden in the Fata Morgana greenhouse. Wine shop St. Kláry will offer mulled wine and hot cider. ČTK was informed about this by the spokeswoman of the Prague Botanic Garden, Michaela Bičíková.
Visitors can also visit the Prague Botanical Garden in Troja on Christmas Day, from 09:00 to 14:00. The same opening hours will be on New Year’s Eve. The botanical garden will offer a number of evergreen perennials, conifers, evergreen trees and shrubs or even some flowers.
In the Fata Morgana greenhouse, they renewed the exhibition of Asian mountain plants, where, for example, there is the oldest orchid in the botanical garden’s collections. The clump is more than 80 years old and has grown to more than a meter wide. You can also see newly planted shrubs or herbs from Asian mountains, for example from Vietnam. The heather-like plants are also new, two species of the genus Aspidistra are unique, one of which was described for science only a few years ago, and the other is still awaiting description.
St. Klara’s wine shop will always be open from 10:00 a.m. It closes at 14:30 on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, and at 16:30 on other days. The outdoor exhibitions are accessible free of charge until the end of February, the entrance fee to the Fata Morgana greenhouse is CZK 150.
