The meeting comes after, last week, both the employees of the Presidency and from other state institutions were trained on cyber security (thanks to external funding), but also after there were data leaks as a result of the hacking of accounts and phones . many state officials.
We mention that, in our country, cyber incidents and the adoption of the necessary measures to prevent them, as well as the security of information systems, are the responsibility of the Cyber Incident Response Center (CERT) within the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service (STISC).
The center has the role of assisting users of information systems, including the state, in implementing measures to reduce the risks of IT security incidents and providing assistance in this regard.
At the end of 2019, Serghei Popovici, then head of STISC, estimated that a large-scale cyber attack in the Republic of Moldova could cause damages of around 350 million dollars.
