Crime index in Italian cities: the Sole 24 Ore ranking
The well-known business newspaper has published the 2022 edition of the index which measures the level of security in the 106 Italian provinces considering the reports filed over a 12-month period for 18 types of crime. From Naples to Prato via Rome, here are the places with the highest crime rate.

The index, which takes into consideration 18 types of crimes, photographs complaints records relating to the total number of crimes committed in the area in the previous year using the information extracted from the inter-force database by the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of the Interior. In the 2022 edition, therefore based on 2021 data, the resulting crimes down 8.7% throughout the peninsula but the local scenarios are highly differentiated.
