Weapons prohibited: On the fourth weekend in Advent, the presence of the Federal Police in Hanover Central Station was evident. A total of six violations of the temporary weapons ban zone were found – on the first weekend in Advent there were 40 violations, the authority said on Sunday. A “clearly positive trend” can be seen.

A total of 60 officers were on duty, 216 people were checked on Friday and Saturday between 3 p.m. and 7 a.m. the following day and searched for weapons or dangerous objects.
Among those checked were four young people between the ages of 15 and 17 who were out and about with one-hand knives, filleting knives, pepper spray and emergency hammers, according to the federal police. All weapons were secured. In the case of the one-hand knife, officials are investigating a 17-year-old for violating the Weapons Act. In addition, the officials found in cases of six narcotics and leading investigations.
