A thirty-four-year-old man stabbed two women in Novodvorská street in Prague 4 this evening. The police had to use a firearm to arrest the suspect, the man died of his injuries on the spot. ČTK was told by the spokesperson of the Prague police Richard Hrdina and Jana Poštová of the Prague rescue service. The TN.cz server drew attention to the case.
The attack happened around 7:00 p.m. “The police searched for the perpetrator, tracked him down and had to use a firearm as a coercive tool, and the suspect succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” Hrdina told ČTK.
After the shooting, the police immediately began to resuscitate the man, after which paramedics took over upon arrival. “Unfortunately, the injuries were very serious in the end and the man succumbed to them on the spot, despite all the efforts of the rescuers,” added the spokesperson of the rescue service.
The emergency services took both women to the hospital. According to Poštová, one of them is in a very serious condition, the paramedics took her to the Motol hospital in artificial sleep. “The second woman was much better off, rather minor injuries, she was there the whole time,” she added.
The police will now investigate all the circumstances of the case, they will not provide any more information today, the spokesman said. The police then stated on Twitter that no one in the vicinity was in danger and that they were informing the General Inspection of the Security Forces (GIBS) about the intervention.
