Look: the Slavia Prague football player visited the tournament of junior preparations
A native of Dolní Němčí, who in his career went through Slovácko, Brno, Prostějov and Mlada Boleslaví, spent less than an hour answering the inquisitive questions of boys and girls, who then signed not only a prepared card, but also a T-shirt or indoor shoes. At the end, he took pictures with the teams and individuals.
“These things are part of it. At Slavia, we want to support young starting boys and girls, whom we would like to motivate, be their role models, so that they push themselves and see where they can take it,” says David Jurásek.
The league footballer is now enjoying a well-deserved holiday. He mainly spends his free time in his native Slovácko. “It was nice to reminisce about the old days, when I was still in Dolní Němčí, as boys we traveled around a similar tournament,” he said.
Saturday’s Christmas indoor tournament in the U9 category was finally dominated by the Slovácko girls, who replaced Ratíškovice and could not find a winner among the boys’ teams.
“We are satisfied, I rate the tournament as excellent. Although we have a bad team and we had few players here, other teams are also struggling with diseases. The opponents tried, but our girls didn’t let anything go either, they listened and in the end they managed it,” pleased the coach of Slovácko, Tomáš Kovařík.
He was extremely satisfied with the attitude of the girls throughout the autumn. “The girls in the junior preparation are smart. They enjoy football, they don’t hesitate. We have training sessions three times a week and they come regularly,” Kovařík praises himself.

At the same time, according to him, it is much more difficult to work with girls than with boys. “The girls play great once, but then comes a game when it looks like they are on the field for the first time. For them, the psyche plays a big role,” he says.
At the tournament in Veselí nad Moravou, however, the hopes from Uherské Hradiště avoided dull passages and unnecessary losses, winning all matches. The home team Veselí nad Moravou finished second, and the hopes of Velké nad Velička took the third place.
“In Veselí, we try to kick-start the youth and move them on, which we succeed in doing. We’re going 150 percent. We have enough children. We have already started playing with the preparations for the regional competition,” said Michal Valdes, training the younger preparations of FC Veselí nad Moravou.
The organizing team also overcame the troubles with the marodka, and miraculously got together for the pre-Christmas competition. “Maybe all the guys were sick and suddenly they got better two days before the tournament,” smiles Valdes.
Vnorovy, Uherský Ostroh and the joint team of Bzence and Vracova were other participants in the Vesela pre-Christmas race.
“The interest between the clubs was quite high. Everyone wanted to play, win medals and cups. But there was no pursuit of results. Everyone played well and thanks to the participation of David Jurásk, everyone had a great experience,” adds Valdes.
