For the first time in the history of the Republic of Moldova, the right bank of the Dniester will not consume gas delivered by Gazprom, announced the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spanu, on his Telegram account, Radio Chisinau reports.
He stated that “for the month of December, SA Energocom, according to the decision of the CSE (Commission for Extraordinary Situations – na), will sell 100 million m3 of gas to MoldovaGaz, at an average price of USD 1108.61/thousand m3”.
“This price includes all costs: gas purchase costs, transport costs and storage costs that Energocom incurred. In addition, the Government continues to increase gas stocks for the coming months as well”, noted Andrei Spânu. He specified that, “following this decision, the tariff will not change”, and “citizens will continue to receive support in the invoice”.
The Extraordinary Situations Commission decided, on December 16, that “Moldovagaz” SA will procure up to 100 million cubic meters of natural gas from “Energocom” SA, in order to provide the Republic of Moldova with energy resources in the context of the reduction in gas volume . natural gas supplied by the Russian company “Gazprom”.
The Russian company “Gazprom”, starting in October this year, reduced gas supplies to the Republic of Moldova. In December, these deliveries are from Apr. 43% of the required.
However, all this quantity is directed to the Transnistrian region in exchange for the electric current provided by the Cuciurgan thermal power plant.
