The Faculty Thomayer Hospital in Prague (FTN) will limit visits from Saturday, they will be possible after consultation with the doctor. According to the hospital’s spokesperson, Petr Sulek, the reason is the high number of outpatients and hospitalized patients with respiratory diseases. According to the information on the website, a ban on visitors will also be in effect at Na Homolce Hospital from Monday.

According to him, hospitals allow visits after an agreement with the treating or leading doctor, the individual visiting regime is also for parents of children in children’s wards.
The hospital in Homolce requires an FFP2 respirator to be used as a condition for possible permission to visit. “The reason for this stricter regime is the possibility of serious consequences of a possible viral respiratory infection on hospitalized patients,” the hospital’s representatives said on website.
According to the information on their websites, other Prague hospitals have so far unlimited visits, during the flu epidemic or during the peak of the covid-19 epidemic in the previous two years, normal visits are prohibited.
The Ministry of Health already recommended in the fall that hospitals introduce the same recommendations or the obligation to wear respiratory protection for visits. “In view of the occurrence of respiratory infections in the population, we recommend wearing respiratory protection when visiting Motol FN,” the hospital said on website. People with symptoms such as cough, runny nose, shortness of breath or temperature should postpone their visit to the hospital.
